Bridging China and the World — One Story at a Time

EricOnChina is built on one simple belief: real understanding changes everything. I want to help people around the world experience China beyond the headlines and stereotypes — through stories, context, and human connection.

From daily life to business realities, from culture to innovation, my goal is to make China less distant and more human — so that curiosity can replace misunderstanding, and connection can replace division.

Eric's Story

I was born in China but spent over 30 years living in the U.S. and Canada. During those years abroad, I often found myself answering questions like — “What is China really like?” and realizing how few people had ever seen it for themselves.

When I returned to China, I saw a different country from the one the world imagines — dynamic, ambitious, messy, and deeply human. That was when I decided to share what I see firsthand — through videos, consulting, and conversations that make China accessible to anyone curious enough to learn.

Today, through TikTok, YouTube, and Instagram, I tell stories about modern China — its coffee culture, factory cities, start-up energy, and everyday people — while my website offers a place for those who want to go deeper: consultations, workshops, and curated products that bring understanding to life.

I’m a content creator, consultant, and entrepreneur working at the intersection of culture and business. My life has been a dialogue between East and West — from growing up in China to studying and working in North America, then returning home to see China with new eyes.

I graduated from the University of Toronto and the University of Arkansas, and have worked and invested in a wide variety of industries. Across these fields, my focus has always been the same — understanding people and bridging cultures.

Now based in China, I work with individuals and organizations who want to navigate China’s complex yet fascinating landscape — offering personalized guidance, cross-cultural training, and creative collaborations.

“I don’t speak for China — I translate its stories.
My goal is not to convince, but to connect.”

A Note from Eric

Hi friends —
after three decades abroad, I came home to a China that surprised me — faster, freer, more creative than I remembered. But I also realized that most people outside China never get to see this side of it.

That’s why I created this space — to share what I see every day and to invite you to ask your own questions. Beyond ideology or labels, we are all humans — curious about each other, wanting to connect. Thank you for being here.

Welcome to EricOnChina — where understanding starts with a conversation.

With warmth,
Eric
